Bosnian, Croatian Experts on Pelješac Bridge
Members of Croatia and Bosnia's groups of experts in charge of the construction of a bridge connecting the mainland and the southern Croatian peninsula of Pelješac have agreed that a minimum width of the navigation path must be 200 meters and the maximum height of the bridge should not exceed 55 meters, it was said after a meeting of the expert groups in Sarajevo on Thursday.
The meeting was held without previous announcements and a press release said that the Croatian side would within seven days forward to the Bosnian authorities documents necessary to launch a public debate on a study on the effect on the environment from the aspect of the cross border cooperation.
It was also agreed that Croatia should timely inform the Bosnian authorities of steps it was planning to take regarding the bridge construction, including the submission of project documents.
All forms of cooperation in the implementation of the Pelješac bridge project will be regulated by a special protocol, the draft of which will be forwarded to Bosnian and Croatian authorities for adoption, the statement said.
