The ACI Supervisory Bord recalled on today's meeting, with a majority of votes, the now former managing director Damir Mandekić. Until the completion of the tender they unanimously appointed Ante Violić as acting manager. He is a graduate Maritime Transport Engineer (specialized in Maritime Management) from Dubrovnik (age: 44 years) who held managing positions in the INA branch in Dubrovnik.

Explaining their decision, the Supervisory Board stated a lack of trust in the previous managing director, based on his violation of the company’s Statute. According to the ACI business report including the first six months in 2005, the Supervisory Board has established that the previous managing director had completed payments to legal entities in amounts surpassing his statutory rights as managing director, without asking for the necessary confirmation of the Supervisory Board.

Further, the Supervisory Board has discovered on several occasions during the same period, violations against the Public Acquisition Law, which has lead to the Board’s complete distrust.

The Supervisory Board rejected all speculations regarding a possible moving of the ACI headquarters, outside from Opatija.

By appointing Ante Violić as acting manager, the ACI Supervisory Board expects a financial consolidation and stabilization of the company, as well as the decrease of negative tension inside of ACI and outside of the company – towards other business subjects. The Supervisory Board also expects to be presented with the ACI business report for 2004 based on realistic indicators, something which has not been carried out by the previous management.
