'3. maj' Delivered Tanker Ship to 'Uljanik plovidba'

Tanker ship 'Pula' (photo: FaH)The tanker ship for the transport of oil and chemicals 'Pula' was handed over today the Rijeka shipyard '3. maj' to the ship owner 'Uljanik plovidba' from Pula.

The ship is 182 meters long and 32 meters wide, its carriage capacity is almost 43 000 tonnes with a max. speed of 14 knots.

The director of the Rijeka Shipyard Gvozden Rukavina and the director of the 'Uljanik plovidba' Dragutin Pavletić signed on that occasion a contract for the construction of additional four tanker ships in the value of EUR 41.7 million which was the value of the vessel which was delivered today.

Capt. Mario Babić, representative of the Ministry of the Sea, Tourism, Transport and Development stated at today's event that ships were the most sophisticated Croatian products at the moment and that they had a place on the demanding international market.

Talking about the project of building Croatian ships in Croatian shipyard, which is being financially supported by the Ministry with 10%, Capt. Babić pointed out that until now 17 ships had been constructed. and that are another two RO-RO ships and five tourist ships were in preparation. He concluded that the Croatian shipbuilding industry had reached the pre-war level.
